Jesus

I’ve walked in that valley,
So cold and so dim.
I’ve lost touch with reality,
Never to be found again,
I’ve been blinded by love,
Only to get deceived
I’ve made wrong choices,
I didn’t want to believe
I’ve been lost to this world
And the pain it can cause
Only to have my heart broken
And my soul lost.
Then I found a gift,
Given many years ago,
One I had forgotten,
From some one I didn’t know,
It showed me the way to ease my pain,
The gift showed me how to be whole again,
My mind was cleared,
As I opened my eyes,
A light came before me,
And to my surprise,
There stood an image,
So faithful and true
Of some one who knew,
Exactly what I was going through
That some one was Jesus,
Standing in my door
My life was changed,
Forever more.
It was him who reached to me,
While I was lost,
The one who believed in me,
No matter the cost.
He gave me courage
When I had none,
His strength gave me hope
To carry on,
I will never forget the glorious day,
That he opened my heart
To the error of my ways
Though his gift of love,
Came with a price
It was his to give,
The ultimate sacrifice
I know what Jesus means to me
And this knowledge sets me free.
Now I am not perfect,
Nor am I not flawed
But my life is better
For I am no longer lost
So I ask you, if you are lost today
How long has it been since you prayed?
If it has been awhile, and life is not right
Give it a try, for you too will see the light
Jesus will come if you ask him too
And he will do it because of his love for you.
All he will ask in return
Is a faith in God that can never turn
For he is the light that leads your way
And his gift is here to stay.
For strength can come from many its true
And courage is found in only a few
He died for us, his strength from within.
